Will you help us cast a great net over the 25 nations of French-speaking Africa?

We just arrived in Québec after two fruitful weeks of ministry in France and West Africa.  We’re looking forward to sharing details in the days ahead… 

On Wednesday, we were driving along the coast of Benin West Africa and had the opportunity to witness first hand villagers fishing with huge nets in the same way they have for centuries.  (When I say huge, I’m talking about football field length and beyond.)  The pastor we were with said that he’s seen upwards of 100 villagers working all day long pulling together to bring their catch to shore. 

It was an awesome display of teamwork and perseverance from people who depend on each other to make a living in the most basic conditions.  It’s also a reminder of how important partnership is to the fulfillment of the great commission.  Jesus said, “follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”  He also said, “the harvest is great, but the laborers are few.” 

The doors are wide open for us in Africa, but we can’t do it alone.  In July we met with key leaders in the Congo and Gabon and on Tuesday we met with the presidents of the largest Pentecostal denominations of the Republic of Bénin (Representing over 8,000 churches).  All of these leaders are enthusiastically waiting for us to come establish a ministry training center in their nations,  help raise up church planters and provide faith-building publications for their people and leaders 

Right now, the only thing keeping us from moving forward is our need to strengthen our monthly partner base.  Tonja and I, along with the amazing team God is raising up, are ready to keep going to the nations of the French-speaking world and are willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill God’s plans and purposes.
