Training Disciples and Young Entrepreneurs in West Africa: Nation Changers from French-Canada Making a Difference
You helped train them! French Canadians, Jean-Yves et Rita Marleau, are changing lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Republic of Benin, West Africa. In addition to preaching and teaching the Word, they hold monthly trainings for young entrepreneurs, work side-by side in the field with the people to teach agricultural best practices, and develop affordable, innovative equipment to help lighten the load and increase profits of these budding farmers.
Jean-Yves and Rita enrolled in RHEMA Quebec (One of the Bible schools made possible by our 180partners) at the same moment they had assumed the pastorate of a church in their native French-speaking province of Quebec, Canada. Over the eight years they pastored, they also ran a horticultural business which they founded and did short-term missions to work amongst vulnerable, abused, or trafficked children in Benin. At a season in life when many would be coasting toward retirement, they sensed the Lord leading them to move to Benin as full-time missionaries.
The training provided through the support of 180partners helped them in their role as pastors and equipped them for the missions ministry they are now committed to in Africa. Speaking of the impact their training had on them, Jean-Yves and Rita said, “We were revolutionized in our faith. The RHEMA teaching is a foundation for our ministry and our mission!” Today, Jean-Yves and Rita are re-transmitting what they received to the precious people of Benin.
