Update from the East African island of Mauritius

Dear friends and nations180 partners,

We recently returned from a fruitful time of ministry in the East African island nation of Mauritius which is the only Hindu majority French-speaking country in the world.  We were blessed with an opportunity to preach and teach 10 meetings in four cities:  Bambous, St. Pierre, Côte d’Or and Beaux Songes.

The six day seminar in Bambous on the subject of faith and divine healing was a huge success and we’ve rarely seen people so hungry for the Word. Lives were touched and many were set free as their hearts were grounded in the truth that God is not only able but also willing to forgive every sin and heal every disease. He wants them to live long and strong for His glory and fulfill His plans and purposes here on the earth. Many in attendance exuberantly shared with us that this was the first time in their Christian life that they had received an in-depth, Biblical, foundational teaching on the subject. We were also able to pray with many people to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit in each city where we ministered and were especially thankful to leave a good quantity of faith-building books with the pastors.

Located in the Indian Ocean 1,200 miles east of the African continent, Mauritius is a tiny country with a total population of 1.3 million and a total land area of just 790 sq. miles.  It is a beautiful nation of extraordinarily warm-hearted, hospital people. It’s also one of the most eclectic cultures we’ve interacted with. It’s a fascinating blend of African, Indian, European and even Chinese culture. Most everyone speaks Creole and French. English, though less frequently spoken, is used in school textbooks and signage. Hindi and Mandarin are also fairly common. Because of its strategic location between Asia and Africa and it’s long history with France , some international companies have begun to set up corporate headquarters on the island. They see it as a stable” launching pad” for business with the African continent. In spite of it’s small size, we too believe the Lord of the Harvest has plans to use this country a for His strategic purposes in these last days!

The people we met and ministered to are already anxiously awaiting to recieve more teaching and we are excited about seeking God’s will in this regard and exploring concrete ways that nations180 can continue to play a role in helping to fulfill God’s plans for Mauritius in the days ahead. Thank you, again, for your prayers and support! We love and appreciate you!!!

We were honored to meet with the President of the Assemblies of God in Mauritius. We are so grateful for the “right hand of fellowship” he extended to us and for his warm welcome to labor together to lift up the Name of Jesus in this nation. God has already done an awesome work through them with 146 churches planted over the last 50 years. We’re truly humbled to bring our supply to the Body of Christ in this strategic part of the French-speaking world.

We’re especially grateful for nations180 partners Pastors Trent & Rhonda Cloin of Champaign, IL who the Lord used to orchestrate this divine connection. Having previously ministered in Mauritius, and knowing our vision for French-speaking world, the Cloins were impressed to put us in contact with pastors Devin and Simla Rajiah (pictured here to the right). The Rajiahs have been pastoring an Assemblies of God church in Bambous for many years. They’re a precious couple whom God is using to do an amazing work in their nation!
